| Course Description | This course will examine the use of cultivated and wild plants in human medicines according to Western and Non-Western medical traditions. Topics will include herbal medicine use from ancient times to the present in different human cultures, important medicinal chemicals produced by plants, the different ways in which herbal medicines can be used, the properties of popular medicinal plants, and the legal aspects of medicinal plant regulation. Same as HORT 180. |
