CPSC 563: Molecular Cytogenetics

Course Description Lecture: Cytogenetic analyses of eukaryotic organisms. Consideration of the role of genome organization in evolution.

Cytogenetic Laboratory Techniques Covered include:
  • Mitotic Analyses in Animals and Plants
  • Chromosome Banding of both Animal and Plant Chromosomes
  • Flow Cytogenetics
  • Somatic Cell Genetics
  • Chromosomal Length Polymorphisms
  • FISH, GISH and Chromosome Painting
